St John the Baptist School is nestled in the foothills of the Dandenongs. Our backdrop and natural surroundings provide a wonderful environment to learn, thrive and grow. We warmly welcome you to experience our amazing school and community in action.
History
St John the Baptist Parish Primary School was established in 1936 by the Parish of St John the Baptist, and the education and care of students was entrusted to the Presentation Sisters (Victorian Province), at the invitation of the then Parish Priest, Fr T. McCarthy. Since its humble beginnings, our Parish school has consistently endeavoured to deliver to the children of our Parish, an inclusive education within the Catholic tradition.
At the heart of St John the Baptist School is the full flourishing of each student in their religious, physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.

Our Mission
I have come that you may have life and have it to the full. John 10:10
We will be Christ centered, where all are valued since we are made in the image and likeness of God.
We will have a focus on Whole person formation, where each young person will be a person of competence, conscience and compassion.
We will develop Relationships, where we recognised that the strength of our community is in collaboration and service with and for each other and our wider community.
We are one body of many parts. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

New Building Spaces
At St John the Baptist School, we are delighted to announce the opening of our new learning centre, featuring six classrooms and a range of flexible learning spaces. Designed to be warm, welcoming, engaging and calm, these contemporary environments are filled with natural light and connect beautifully with our natural surroundings to create optimal spaces for learning.
Our new building also reflects and celebrates our Catholic identity, with meaningful iconography woven throughout the interior and exterior. We honour our Catholic tradition and aspire to nurture a community enriched by Faith, Hope and Love.
Beyond the learning centre, our newly landscaped grounds now include an outdoor amphitheatre, quiet spaces for reflection and gathering, an outdoor chess board and a Ga-Ga pit, each enhancing the social and learning opportunities available to our students.
We invite you to experience the unique and inspiring spiritual, social, emotional and academic environment of St John the Baptist School, a place where every child is supported to flourish, thrive and become the best version of themselves.
