St John the Baptist School Ferntree Gully
We thank you for considering St John the Baptist as the school for your child and family. We openly welcome enquiries regarding enrolments.
We invite prospective families to ring the school on 9758 1013 to make a mutually convenient time for us to show you around our wonderful school. This is a great opportunity to have a personal tour of the school, where you can ask all the questions that are pertinent to your child and family, as well as the opportunity for us to show you who we are and what we do.
We take enrolment applications at anytime, and particularly encourage you to apply early in the year before your child is due to start school. Applications are usually required by 31st May, in the year prior to commencement.
Enrolment Procedure
To enrol your child at St John the Baptist families will need to complete an enrolment form. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the school website or families are welcome to collect an enrolment form and/or pack from the office. Families are able to contact the school office on 9758 1013 or via the school website. We look forward to welcoming you to St John the Baptist School.
When submitting the enrolment application form, families are asked to please include the following documentation:

2025 Foundation Enrolments
At St John the Baptist we commit to supporting our new children and their families in making a smooth transition to school life. For students to begin school they must be 5 years of age by the 30th April in the year of their commencement.
We provide a comprehensive transition to school that includes the following:
School Tours
Families are welcome to join us for a tour on one of our Open days or they may contact the school office to organise a mutually convenient time for a personalised tour of our school.
Open Days
Open Morning - Saturday 4th May 2024 - tours 9am, 9.45am & 10.30am
Open Day - Thursday 9th May 2024 - tours @ 9am, 10am, 4pm & 5pm
Meeting with the Principal
Parents and prospective students will meet with the Principal and Deputy Principal for the opportunity to commence our partnership with you and your child. This is an opportunity to provide support as you prepare to transition to school, learn more about aspects of school life and how we can work together to provide your child with a positive and successful start to school.
Offer of Place
Letters of Offer for Prep 2025 will be emailed to families at the beginning of June 2024.
Kindergarten Visit
A member of our School Team will visit students at kindergarten for an opportunity to interact with them in an environment in which they feel safe and comfortable.
Transition Sessions
In October and November 2024 we will then commence our transition sessions when students have the opportunity to visit St John the Baptist, to meet other students and some of the teachers who will be teaching them once they begin school. We will have three sessions.
Information Evening
At the beginning of Term 4 we will hold an important information evening for our 2025 Prep families, where we will present everything families need to know to ensure a successful start to school.

Out of School Hours Care

Before and After School Care is provided by Camp Australia.

The Outside School Hours Care program at St John the Baptist Parish Primary School provides time for homework, time to relax, educational activities and a healthy snack.

Best of all, our program makes time for kids to be kids – to play and explore, share with friends and enjoy these precious school years.
