St John the Baptist has been part of my family story over many years. Firstly I was a mother in the school and then was fortunate to join the administration team with Cynthia. I love working alongside Cynthia to welcome everyone to our school. People often describe us as the face of the school…I promise you will always be greeted with a smiling face and a helping hand when you come to meet us at the office. Come in and say hi!

As a teacher I love creating memories with all the students across the school and attending events such as the school musical, sports days, whole school masses and excursions.

I am also the E-Learning Leader and love challenging myself and students in using a variety of technology to support and engage learning. We are very fortunate at St Johns to have a wide range of up to date electronics and always looking to improve our skills.

Year 1/2 Teacher

My third year at St John’s will be filled with many milestones and memories, as was the first. A prep year is etched in the minds of the students, families and teachers forever, making it one of the most precious and exciting times in your child’s life. Care, patience and understanding are required to assist your child in making a smooth transition on their school experience. I look forward to working in partnership with you, as we guide your child on their learning journey. It is my aim that your child feels valued, respected and encouraged, this is achieved through preparation, targeted teaching, and fun along the way! I look forward to getting to know each child and building on their strengths.
I also hold the position of Sustainability leader and will be running whole school sustainability initiatives with the leaders from Prep-Six. We will investigate ways of caring for our local environment and look at ways of reducing waste around the school.
My time out of school involves caring for my family, walks with my labrador, Patch and being part of a committee caring for the local Sanctuary and being an active member of the CEOM Environmentally Sustainable Development Committee (ESD)

Year 5 and 6 are important times for our students and I am thrilled to be sharing in their journeys as they learn and grow. I chose teaching as a profession partly because my experiences at primary school were not happy, and it is my personal goal to make every student I encounter feel positive, successful and important. My faith is important to me and I think it is a privilege to walk alongside students as they explore their spiritual paths.

Specialised Teachers

Tess Farry

Physical Education Teacher

Whether I am playing or watching, sport has provided me with some of the most memorable moments of my life. It has given me the opportunity to travel, meet incredible people and make important lifelong friendships. I will happily watch any sport, drawn in by the competition, but I am especially passionate about cricket and the AFL – go Blues! In my time, I have also played a number of sports; however, my heart definitely belongs to netball.

I am passionate about teaching sport because I hope all children get the opportunity to experience the joy that sport can bring to their lives. Sport is character building, providing children with countless opportunities to learn about themselves during crushing lows and exhilarating highs.

I am excited about providing students with the opportunity to experience a variety of sporting activities at St John the Baptist.

Lorraine Costa

Music gives life to the soul. It is my passion to lead children on the journey to personal joy in being able to participate in an area of learning which is non judgemental. Participating in music activities lights up the brain, allows for happy social interaction and personal satisfaction.
I have enjoyed the warm, collegiate environment at St John the Baptist since I began teaching here in 2009. Outside of school I am involved in the activities of the music liturgy group in my Parish. I have the pleasure of supporting, and following, the musical endeavours of my family members, and former students.
